I need a regular steel wheel for a spare tire for a 63 roadster. I've seen new ones in the catalogs for $100+, but was wondering if there is a more current GM wheel that is interchangeable, and may be available in a salvage yard for a little less.

Re: '63 Spare
Yep, if you can find a '63-64 Chevy passenger car that was police/taxi configured (probably rarer than finding a Corvette in those yards!).
Bite the bullet and buy the KH replacement wheel. You should be able to knock the price down to the $80 range by finding a big tire/wheel distributor in a major metro area who is a KH distributor and caters to the appearance upgrade & race crowd.
One issue with any used wheel is whether or not it's 'true'. There's a reason used wheels are for sale and often that reason isn't good.... I know you want it for a spare, but it still needs to spin correct/true if/when you use it.- Top
