Could someone here tell me how much blackout paint was applied to the washer bottle bracket during the blackout process? Also was the bracket painted a different finish of black prior to being installed? Lastly was it installed unpainted and just painted on the one side during the blackout process? Thanks to all for your continued help. Regards, Craig W. NCRS #36551

Re: 61 Windshield Washer Bracket
The bracket as well as bracket AND heat shield in the case of FI was/were installed prior to black-out. The bracket was supplied in primer; the heat shield in raw aluminum. These items were blacked out as were all installed components when the engine compartment was blacked out.
This painting occured AFTER the body was painted and BEFORE body drop. A recent article in Restorer Magazine infers that the engine compartment was blacked out after body drop. Such was NOT the case.
