JG has the famous early/late scenario, with the 512 used for SOP and the 515 later in the year. all the '63 guys I have talked with seem to be looking for the '512, so the changeover may have been very late.

rare beasite, that 512 V-Reg. I've picked 'em up off cars built as late as June. Also, there was early/late subtilities on 512 that dealt with whether or not the case frame was drilled to mount the '957 radio cap (late) or whether the cap's mounting bracket was shoved under one of the V-Reg to firewall mounting screws. Methinks the change came along around Mar '63....
