Before I break the Pulse Amplifier or wiring hrnss

I think in trying to get it unplugged I've separated the plug on the wiring harness that attaches to the amplifier. It appears that at the end of the wiring harness there is a plug in which the three wires terminate to imbedded spade clips. And, that there is a boot that slides over the plug and connections to complete the plug assembly. That "plug" then plugs into a female connection on the amplifier.

Looks like what I've done is pulled the boot loose from the plug exposing the spade like connectors. While I guess it is possible, I can't imagine that the spade like connectors are intended to be unplugged from the amplifier individually and that what I'm seeing is correct.

It's all very snug and I don't want to do irreversible damage to the harness. If someone can confirm the way this comes apart. I would appreciate it.

It is a Lectric-Limited harness for a '68. A former owner replaced the original a couple years ago.

Your description is correct. The "boot" on the end of the harness should come off along with the wires, and with some care, the three wires can be extracted from the boot - had to do this once to correct and open circuit at a connector due to corrosion.

If the harness boot has pulled off leaving the wires connected you could probably pull the individual wires with a pair of needle nose pliers.

When you put it together use some silicone dielectric grease on the terminals/boot and between the harness boot and amplifier connector.
This will help prevent moisture from entering. The design is "waterproof", but once moisture gets in, it can't get out. The silicone grease will help prevent the entry of moisture, and should ease the task of getting the harness connector off the next time.

        Thanks,

That makes me feel more confident about trying to get it apart. I didn't think about the waterproofing requirment for that connection. That does alot to justify the design.
