    Strange, they shouldn't...

Hang low, at least, not as low as conventional 4-tube headers, because there should only be 2 tubes at the collector, not a cluster of 4. The only factory use of tri-Y's I know of is some early Sunbeam Tigers, and the 65-66 (street model) Shelby GT350. The Shelby type is stll available in repro, and the ground clearance is excellent.

Some people just don't get it, Dale...

They assume that if a 2" exhaust is good, 2.25 must be better, and 2.5 must be awesome! I love to take on the "Summit Auto" crowd and their 1000 cfm carbs, MSD ignition, 2" full-length headers, etc, with a stone stock '66 Mustang at time trials. (Just for the record, I admit "stone stock" is 289HP w/stock cam, ignition, and 600 cfm carb & port matching, toploader w/stock shifter, 3.00:1 Traction-Loc, and Traction Masters, with 205/70R14 tires). Careful tuning and driving will beat mis-matched speed shop parts just about every time.

Hot Rod did a big dyno test of exhaust systems about 15 years ago, which showed, among other things, that "H" pipe crossovers, and full-length tailpipes actually ADDED rear wheel horsepower. The test mule was a 350 Nova, as I recall.

            And That's Their Rightful Choice.

Around here some folks drive 4 x 4 Monster Trucks on the street. I sometimes feel that these morons are insecure in their manhood!

            Dale.
