4+3 on a 85C

Hello
At this time I look for helb an a 4 plus 3 Transmission under a 85 Coupe.
The Car is compl. original and has only one problem.
The 4+3 Trans will not shift in first and in Revese.
Any Idea , or can we conversion to a 6 speed , Any experts out there

Need a little more detail on "won't go into" first or reverse, Do you get grinding of the gears, or it will not go in at all? the first and reverse operation of these is very much like a traditional 4-speed, so the first places to look would likley be at the clutch (Not releasing) or the shifter (not engaging the levers on the trans side cover). I believe that car uses a hydraulic clutch, so I'd start by looking at the fluid level in the M/C and looking for leaks at the slave cylinder that is bolted to the bellhousing.

Having to deal with hydraulic clutch operating system since 86 and not being there to look at the car I think that a new master cylinder and a new slave cylinder would make this car shift like a new one. Remember brake fluid absorbs water from day one and deteration of this system began in 85. If this was my car I would use silicone brake fluid. I have used it in my hydraulic clutch system for 4-5 years now and I am very satisfied with the performance.
