At the last meet I attended, in Jenkintown, I incurred a 6 point deduction on Exterior Section 16 Rocker Molding or Covers - 2 originality and 4 condition. The sidepipes and the covers are in perfect condition. In the notes the judge wrote "rivets". The only rivets, (two of them) on the sidepipe system are on the front brackets where the bracket attaches to the sidepipe cover. The bracket is attached to the body via the proper screw. I can not find any other rivets anywhere. The rear attachment is via the correct attachment as well. Could someone advise me on what could have caused the deduction. There just are not any other rivets that I see. Two sections prior on the Grille section I recvd the identical deduction and I cant figure that one out either. All help is appreciated.

Re: Point deduction help - sidepipe covers
It's a little late now. The team that judged your car told you what the problem was and the reason for the deduction right after they judged your car. Always remember to ASK at the time about the deduction. Chances are a different score will occur the next time.- Top

The only person that can give a 100% complete
answer is the judge that assessed the deduction. Everyone else is second guessing. The judges name is on the sheet, why not contact him and ask?- Top

Excellent suggestion!
In fact, the Team Leader and Meet Judging Chairman are on the Flight Score Sheets to help you here....
Adding to Bob Cook's comments, the human brain can process/remember 5 +/- 2 quickly presented, disperate items. Number (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) is strongly correlated to native IQ.
At a meet, the owner is presented with WELL over this number of items to mentally process. Many, go into sensory overload and tend to 'nod' their heads and agree during debrief, but the information is actually going into a trash can 'upstairs'....
A 'trick' that works is graphically encoding (thought to be how perfect recall individuals operate--take a 'picture' of the thingy). Ask the judges, time permitting, if there's another car with the 'correct' configuration they can show you. Once you've seen what 'correct' looks like, believe me, you won't forget later and struggle with terse comments on Flight Score Sheets later on....- Top
