    C1 - Dash Pad

After much wrestling, I got the windshield re-assembled and the pad glued in but... I couldn't get a "wave" out of the pad between the speaker and the windshield. Should I pull it up and try again or will it "lay down" with sun exposure? Also, the Al Knoch video SHOWS t******* the pad foam at the cluster but Al SAYS to trim it from the dash insert. The pad came pre-trimmed at the cluster AND I'm having trouble getting the insert back in, should I have trimmed the foam behind the insert? I already trimmed too much od the vinyl behind the insert, I think, not that it will show, but it seems like it may not be pinched down enough. What else... O.K. during final re assembly, I plan on installing the windshield frame, defroster ducts, THEN glue and hold the ends of the pad in place with the end caps, radio trim and package tray stuff, seems logical (I hope) Thanks for reading and any input you may have.

I would delight in judging a C1 restored the way they were built. With an occasional wrinkle in the dash pad!

The original pad on my '59 has a slight wrinkle above the speaker and also a very nice wrinkle above the package tray insert. Character marks, if you will. I'm sure they have always been there as the car wasn't that old when I got it.The pad is in nice shape so they will probably stay there.
