    "T" Top racks

ebay item#1816742679 is a set of "T" Top racks for Corvette. The seller has no info on what year they are for. Can anyone tell me if they will work with my 77 ? The car has the standard luggage rack. If they will work, are there any other pieces needed? Thanks for any help - the 77 is my first foray into the "post straight axle" corvette arena. Steve

Nope! Will not fit the 1977. I have two sets of those and they are much diiferent. The e-bay models are for the big back window models. 1978-1982

            Haven't looked....

at what's on eBay, but '77 was one of those rare years where luggage rack WAS a factory (vs. dealer installed) item and packaged as RPO V54 you got both a factory installed luggage rack as well as the 'rare' clamp-on Roof Panel Rack. The 'correct' luggage rack will have tiny 'nubs' on the chrome support rods that act as mounting posts for the add-on Roof Panel Rack.

This was a rather short lived option ('rare'). Instead of removing the T-tops and storing them in the rear comparment, you could conveniently 'clamp' them to the rear rack by way of the clamp-on Roof Panel Rack feature. Reports from those who've actually owned/used this wiz-bang feature are dubious....

Since the Roof Panel Rack feature easily clamps to the luggage rack and the panels 'snap' onto it, the reverse is also true! The panels and panel rack adaptors can disappear just as fast when you park and go inside to partake of lunch.... While this is a desirable feature, I've never seen anyone showing the 'rig' except at a concours meet with security guards!
