    Corvette Insurance

I know this isn't a technical question, but can anybody recommend, or discourage me from using, any good insurance outfits for my Corvette? The company I have everything else I own under has a pretty high rate; others that I have looked at won't touch the car unless I insure at least one of my daily drivers with them, others don't deal in collector cars at all. The best premium I have been quoted is through Classic Automobile Insurance Agency...do any of you have your car insured with them, any horror/praise stories? I just haven't had time to do any real research on them. Any advice/recommendations would be really appreciated!

    Jeremy,

You don't give the year of your car or how you use it but if it is over 25 years old and you use it for club functions and pleasure drives you might try one of these:

    Hagerty Ins. 1-800-7475348
    American Collectors 1-800-360-2277

They sell direct or through independent agents (same cost) in your state. I am an independent agent and have used both of these for years however to date I have not had any claims so I can't speak for the claims service part. Rates for cars newer than 25 years are higher and are in banded age groups.

You Might Want to Check Out. . .

Leland-West at www.lelandwest.com. I have all three of my Corvettes insured with these folks and have been very happy with their rates and service. One downside, however, there are mileage limits.

this doesn't answer your question but are you the Jerry Davito that used to own a solid axle vette and park in front of the Galaxy Motel in St. Charles Il? My wife used to work there in our high school days. Dan Grunwald

                        Jeremy,
I have had fantastic service from American Collectors. Unfortunately I have had two claims in the past year totaling over $6000.00 and they were a joy to deal with, and pluse two.. my resonable premiums stayed the same. Good luck, Bruce

                            VERY limited pleasure driving

I was going to go with them but the "limited pleasure driving" clause stopped me. I stayed with my overall carrier, California Capital in Monterey CA. I have had homeowners and other car claims with them and they are great.
