    57 soft top weather strip

    Help! Help! Help! Pleeeeaassseeee!

On the 56/7 soft top replacement weather strips there are small corner pieces that fill the gap between the header weather strip and the front side rail weather strips. Is anyone familiar as to how these pieces are oriented ?

Or does any one have any pictures etc. of the front underside of a top with these replacement weather strips installed ?

    Tom,
Here is how I was told by Al Knoch's top installer @ Carlisle. I'll describe the drivers side insert. Hold it so the CRC LH is facing you and the little rised platform is on the right. The front header fits along side where the CRC LH lettering is. Lettering parallel to the frant header. It might fit beside the lettering in the lower area, I'm not sure because I have yet to get to this stage. Hopefully with the surfaces your working with it will become apparent. The front side header goes under (or aligns to) the big bevel surface on the bottom side. Again, hopefully it will be apparent when trying to fit it all together. As you know area is nothing like the '56's originally were. Regards,

        Jim:

Thanks for the response. Trial and error experimentation lead me to believe this was the way for it to go, but it looked so nasty and really doesn't seal completely. I was hoping I was missing something. Back to the drawing board. Think I will try to trim the corner pieces or something at least for a better seal hopefully better look. I'll let you know what I find out.
