    '57 seat black streaks

My '57 has begun to show 6 or 7 black streaks emanating from the piping that surrounds the waffle seat inserts and radiating out about 6". I've tried several vinyl cleaners and the best they do is to lighten the streaks somewhat. A few weeks later they're just as dark as before. It only occurs on the driver's seatback. The interior is red and the car is kept in an enclosed but unheated garage.

Any ideas what is causing this and what to do about it?

    Thx,

    Mike

    Michael,
Could it be the ink bleeding through from the marker the pattern maker used to trace the pattern ? If so, perhaps using a little '56-'57 interior vinyl spray paint and stripe it on with a small brush (?). Regards,
