ALL 1970-74 Corvettes used a non-vented gas cap. No exceptions, whatsoever. ALL 1970-74 Corvettes used a pressure vacuum valve integral with the fuel tank which dealt with pressure vacuum coditions. Actually, the valve was first incorporated into Corvette fuel tanks in late 1969 production, but no 1969s originally used a non-vented cap. 1970 was the first C2-C3 that used the non-vented cap.
