I have looked in the tech guide for details on two items with no luck. First - what color is the distributor hold down painted? I would have guessed satin black, but on page 156 of Noland Adams guide, there appears to be a silver one. It's hard to tell from the photo. Second - on the driver's side of the distributor, there are two threaded holes in the intake, one of which goes all the way through the manifold to the lifter galley. I believe these holes mount the powerglide linkage bracket. Since my car is a 3 speed, do I thread bolts into these holes? Any insight into these two questions would be apppreciated. Thanks Steve

Re: 56 distributor hold down and manifold holes
Steve,
I beleive the hold down is black, I have a 57 and I painted mine black and the judges in Laughlin did not ding me for it. The hole in the manifold near the rear carb in my car was chucking oil on the carb and the inside of the hood. I put a hex head, recesed unmarked bolt in the hole. The hole near the back of the manifold does not go all the way through. I would like to know from a judging type what is the proper set up. Is your 56 a single or two 4 set up.- Top
