    security at car cruises

Does anyone do anything special to keep their corvette safe at cruises? I always leave the tops out and the car totally open when i walk around at car cruises. I think the are generally safe but i did'nt know if anyone put locks on their t tops or used cut off switches on their cars or anything like that. Just curious what other people do.

I've never locked my cars up at cruises. However, I only go to cruises in my area that I'm familiar with and in resonably crime free parts of town. These cruises usually have limited access to drive in or out. A thief would have to be pretty daring and desperate to attempt something. I think most theives would consider a car show or cruise nite to be pretty high risk. Too many people at these gatherings know each other and would be keeping an eye peeled for trouble. Unless there is a swap meet going on, it would be pretty hard to explain why someone would be walking away from an event with T-tops under their arms. Then again most thieves are pretty stupid and might not think things through quite as well.

I think mothers pushing strollers and kids on bicycles are a far bigger threat than thieves .

Not to mention Billy Bob with the 40 pound belt buckle who NEEDs to see under the hood close up, and Disco Joe who wants to lean on your car to impress the 'chicks' by making out that it's his car.

Outright theft is the least of your worries, careless spectators with no common sense is the big danger.

My personal favorite is the old guy who presses his fingernail into the paint to see if it is 'hard' yet.
