i am finishing a frame on restoration of 66 roadster, convertible top is after market and has a huge rip in the window, to fix the window requires the top come off and a new window stitched in, labor about 250.00, car is freshly painted laguna blue. question is what were the original convertible tops like, when they say soft top do they mean something other than this kind of cheap looking vinyl top thats on there now? where does one get an original top without getting ripped off? current top is white and gets very dirty very easily, anyone have a picture of a laguna blue mid year with a black top? i bought a black top from mid america for my 68 and it was ok but not super. thank you

Re: 66 convertible
Joe,
-----I second the choice of Al Knoch. You can even have the rear window dated to match your cars date of manufacture,as per original.
-----I also have a 66 Laguna blue 'vert, with black leather.Original owner made(as far as I am concerned)the only good choice and checked the box for tan convert top.If you have goldline tires it only adds to the look. Also it doesnt show the dirt at all!............Bill S- Top
