'57 Steering column and shift ball and capacitors

2 Questions. Is that part of the steering column that is in the engine compartment on a 57 supposed to be black or interior color? Also what is the correct color for the shift ball supposed to be for #3290, white or chrome? Does anyone know where I might be able to get the correct capacitors for the generator, coil and voltage regulator?

the column on a 57 shouldbe interior color the entire length to the box. Dale Pearman or Jack Humphrey should be able to help you on the caps. John

Joe, The continuation of the steering column going into the engine compartment is painted the same color as the column appears in the interior, until the steering box.

The shift lever ball on 1957's could be chrome up to approximately serial# 200. The majority of the production year they were one piece white tenite.

Ebay and swap meets are probably your best bets for finding the correct numbered capacitors unless someone here can help you. The coil capacitor #1929070 seems to be the one that is hardest to find but they are around.
