I'd like to repaint my 1967 jack. Was the entire jack painted? Was any of it not painted? Was the long "screw" painted? How about the three washers on 67 jacks? Two are metal, and the one in between looks like it's nylon. Are they painted? Thanks for any help.

I have an original 66 Corvette Jack which is the same type III for 66-67. The entire jack is painted gloss black except for the washers which is referred to as the bearing. -

Mario, Check the Restorer magazine for a full description of the jack specifiic to your year. It reviews in great detail what should be painted in regards to the assembly process. I seem to recall that the jack was hung with the screw reversed and the whole assembly was then dipped. Regards,Kieran #11373Comment
