1960 Windshield: Where to purchase (repost)

Can anyone provide additional information about places to consider for purchasing a new windshield for my 1960? Bud Baker has provided info about O.E.M. Glass Inc.

Any other suppliers? Any to avoid or things to watch out for?

    Thanks, Rick

I bought an undated windshield from Corvette Central 3-4 years ago. It was fine as far as fit, no distortion, etc. I have looked a bit since I need one for my current C1. I can buy one locally, but they all seem to be tinted. I think I can get a clear one from a local glass company if I talk to the right person. I haven't pursued it too diligently, since the present windshield is in the marginal category vs the "gotta have it" catagory. The tinted version was priced about $200, BTW. If you want a dated version, all the vendors sell them, and they probably all get them from the same place. Freight is a major consideration. You need to arrange to pick up at a show if at all possible, or some vendors will have free freight if you buy at a show.

A friend of muine has purchased several windhields for his 1960 Corvettes from All Auto Glass. Their link is below. They have the logo as well as date coding.

                Tinted or not???

Hmmm... Hadn't even thought far enough to realize that they might have tinted and non-tinted. My current windshield seems to have a very slight tint... but it's hard to tell since the windshield assembly is sitting on the poorly lighted garage floor.

Was tinted or non-tinted an option?

                thanks again,

                Rick

Nope - no tinted option - all were clear.
