    72 LT1 Carb Gasket?

I am getting my 72 LT1 ready to sell (got another project) and am having the carb rebuilt by Jerry Luck (who else, right?), there is a fiber-like (maybe bakelite?) plate under the carb that sits on the aluminum intake. Should there be a gasket between the plate and the carb? The car only has 35,000 miles on it and is pretty much as it came from the factory, but I know the carb was rebuilt at one time and wondered if they forgot to use a gasket. Any help would be appreciated.

    Mark----

72 LT-1s did not use a seperate gasket. The carb heat "insulator" served as both the gasket and the heat insulator. This "insulator", GM #3999259, has been discontinued. A reproduction is available from Dr. Rebuild under his their part number 3726123. I'm sure this item is also available in reproduction from other vendors.

      Thanks Joe!

Thanks Joe! I figured that was the case, but wanted to be absolutely sure. Mark
