    Right 'book'....

Much of this thread involves getting/reading the NCRS Judging Reference Manual (the white book) in addition to simply looking at the Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide + the Flight Score Sheets applicable to the car. The Standard Deduction Tables (Section 4) specifically address the use of SS materials where known original parts were NOT constructed this way....

Other replies hit the nail on the head; with both obvious exterior paint clear coating + rather extensive use of SS components, a BUNCH of the car's native Flight scoring safety margin (6% or 270 judging points) has been erroded and the rest of the car had better be REALLY good to make Top Flight without the benefit of our club's milage driven bonus system....

Jack, where do you get a copy of the score sheet? When I purchased my 62 judging guide fifth edition there were no score sheet/s included. Are they provided upon registering for car judging?

            Re: Can't say....here's why

Ron, Flight Score Sheets used to be part of the old 'Judging Manuals'.... But, we've taken a turn from the top (National Judging Chairman) to update and rationalize things. We now call the 'books' Techincal Information Manuals and Judging Guides and the Flight Score Sheets are separate entities. That eases the process of re-allocating individual part/line item scores (policy and proceedure changes) without making JG books obsolete.

Any NCRS member in good standing can request a copy of the current Flight Score Sheet for his/her car from either the National Judging Chairman or his local Chapter Judging Chairman and receive one without charge. The score sheets can and do change over time, but the bottom line of 4500 judging points remains constant.

So, drop Roy Sinor a line or ask your Chapter Judging Chairman for a copy of a Flight Score Sheet for your car at your next chapter meeting. You really need this to play 'what if' games in making economic decisions during your restoration/preservation effort....

                thanks

                Thanks,
for all the info...the Brake/fuel lines were my main concern.. and it seem s that they hold up for some time, I have not clearly decided on those two items yet, but if I go with the steel i'll coat them..with something..
                thanks
                jc

Don't worry guys, just got my car back, from the second paint shop....
I'm so sick I had to take today off...let's just say, new rear 1/4 and rear tail light section needed. puke....I took it to the 3rd guy and told him what i wanted, i.e. Ncrs deal, and that's his recomendation, due to the amount of excess filler the first guy put in the rear fender lips, and rear well. And I pick up my car, and the pass rear1/4 is broke, someone drop something on it.
An the engine has enough dust on it, aiiyaaya....
He said the time I spend dremiling out that stuff, He'd have my car done (re-fendered) and painted.
When I drive this car, a full round of drinks on me....for a year.
                Frame coming around good...jc
