Early 66 Grill / Rocker Panels

On an early 66, (SN 2008) would it be possible that the Front Grill and Rocker Panel to be 65 style ?

The car has a lot of dated parts from July 65. I would expect this since the car was built in 65. But, I would expect the rocker panels and grill to be 66 style since these were the biggest outside cosmetic changes. It does have the
Corvette script on the hood.

Cars with S/N far below yours all have the "standard" '66 appearance items. As the Grille change was touted in the sales Brochure, it is unlikley that a car would have been shipped with a '65 grille

That's interesting, Don. We have run across some strange things like your deal lately. I don't see how it's possible for the car to have come with those items. You could write your team leader about it.

We have judged an original 65 that is real late S/N that has a 66 grill and some other 66 items on it. Mostly they ran out of 65 stuff late on the assembly line. From this I would doubt a 66 would have a 65 grill.

Late '65's w/'66 grilles ?

Ken --- the last '65 produced had a '65 grille (from contemporary photos). There are other very late '65 owners on this forum that could add to this observation.

has a '65 grille - the instrument cluster (dated July 27, 1965) does, however, have a 1966 temperature gauge.
