WCFB Jets

I have a 2 x 4 set up that is for a 270HP. I would like to jet it down to a 245HP. I am not using a solid lifter cam.
Where can I purchase/swap my jets?

Joe,
WCFB's were designed to easily change rods rather than jets. I think (but am not sure without doing a lot of research) that the 240 HP and 270 HP jets would be the same size. Rods may be of a different size.

If you are focused on changing jets, AFB jets will fit. What you will need to do is calculate the area of the existing jet hole and then determine how much smaller % area you desire the new jet to be. Then locate an AFB jet size which is closest to that figure.

Chuck Smith (whom I have no connection with) advertises in Hemmings and elsewhere of WCFB "economy" rods for '56 2 X 4's which would "lean out" your carbs in driving mode. He may have specifically items for your year as well. Regards,

Thanks Jim. From information I received on this board, the jets and metering rods are different sizes for the 245HP.

If anyone has what you need, it'll be Bob Kunz in St. Louis; I'm on the road right now and don't have my references handy, but he advertises in the Driveline, Hemmings, Vette Vues, etc.
