    68 Pitman Arm & P/S Valve

For the life of me I cannot pop the Power steering valve free from the pitman arm on my '68. I'm using a pickle fork and have even resorted to sliding a steel rod through the engine mount and hamering directly on the castle nut! Any ideas how to get this stubborn thing to seperate? Thanks!

I believe you can use a typical ball joint removal tool (such as OTC, etc). They look like a small version of a pitman arm puller, c shaped with flat ears on the end of the C with a threaded shaft in the midde. I always use these instead of picke forks, since they don't damage boots, joints, and allow parts reuse. They are also more effective. Good luck!...Craig
