    66 Holley Carb

Had my original carb professionally rebuilt witht he full monty including re-bushed throttle shafts. Unable to set idle below 1000 RPM or get smooth idle. Absoluting nothing is restricting the linkage/throttle plates from returning to a fully closed position. Throttle body passes the "light test" for being fully closed. When I put an equivalent aftermarket Holley replacement on the car runs great so I have concluded that the original carb needs to go back to the re-builder. Before I send it off, I would like some insight into what internal problem would cause these sypmtoms i.e., too much fuel through the idle circuits.

One thing that will do it is the incorrect gasket between the throttle plate and the main body--Personal experience
