Is there suppose to be any coating on the antenna ground plane? Mine has a brown (or dirty yellow) splotchey coating on both sides. It does not cover 100% of the aluminum - like it was sprayed very lightly from a distance. It does not cover the steel reinforcement plate around the antenna hole. That part is natural (rusty). What is the correct finish / appearance for these parts.
Thanks,
Rob
Rob - The finish of the antenna ground planes I have seen from the Corvettes I've worked on have been natural aluminum. The surface is usually oxidized and might have some pitting but no evidence of specifically being painted or coated. Pete
