    62 dash pad

Any suggestions or tips on installing a new dash pad on a 62? The windshield is off. Thanks

    Andrew,

There was just recently a good thread on C-1 dash pads. I suggest that you do a search on the subject. I just took a quick look searching on the word "pad" and found about 15 messages about C-1 dash pads.

        Re: 62 dash pad

I just did a 61 with the help of the board and the Knoch video. I learned many things through that experience, then got a rare opportunity to watch a master install one live at an NCRS New England Tech. meeting on Saturday at Ron's in Fitchburg, MA
        1) Dry fit the pad and trim the padding from the vinyl at the guage cluster and the dash insert, you may also have to trim the pad at the drivers side end just above the end cap.
        2) install the insert, grab bar & trim and guage cluster before any gluing (I thought of this then saw the expert do it too) and the speaker and mirror (in reverse order). the courtesy light etc...
2.5) there may be an edge of foam where the vinyl turns up, if so trim that back just a little.
        3) Only glue the edge under the windshield and clean old glue first. Use the new glue sparingly (I used 3M trim adheasive "yellow death").
        4) the rest of the pad can be held in place by the end caps, the upper console trim and the kick panels.

There are plenty more steps, but these are the "tricks" I learned along the way.
        Good Luck!!! Jim
