On the front header there are the small machine threaded holes on each side. These much resemble the pad retaining holes in the bows. Does any body know what these are for?? Also the rear bow has six holes with t-nuts four are for the rear latches, are the other two for the hold up straps?? If so does anyone know exactly how these straps attach to the rear bow??? Thanks for any help...

Re: 57 soft top header and rear bow
TL,
The pads are attached to the front header by the tack strip directly in back of the tapped holes you described. The three per side tapped holes attach a curved thin steel plate which adds contour the outer edge of the header bar. Sounds like you are missing these, and they are a rare item to find! The other tapped holes on the rear deck bow are for the hold up straps as you surmised. They are attached to the bow by a Phillips head thread cutting screw nestled in a trim washer. Next issue of SACE's magazine will contain an article on how these straps should attach and look. Regards,- Top

TL:
I have not yet installed the header corner plates on my top. If you send me your e-mail address, I will try to get some pictures sent to you. I think the 56-62 are all the same, but these plates would be quite complicated to reproduce.
