    Re: Window Glass scratches

I have used the Eastwood kit too with a fair amount of success. You will get good results if you take your time and you can't catch your fingernail on the scratch, as has been said. My wife cleaned something off of the French door glass in the house with a Scotchbrite pad. Looked like you scuffed the paint for refinish. The Eastwood kit removed all of these really fine scratches with no trace of the damage. Took a good long time though. It will reduce a more severe scratch so it isn't as noticable too.

I heard that Brasso (metal cleaner/polish available in food or hardware stores) works well for this but have never tried it.

I am told one can use auto body super fine 1500, 2000 or finer grit if available wet sandpaper as well, but that was not my choice. Just remember any scratches you put in will have to be polished out, so you can rapidly create more work for yourself. I urge you to get a feel for how long the process takes before creating more scratches, however fine thy might be.
Also there will be some distortion if one looks carefully at the right angle, so less polishing is better than more. I have also observed that Rain-X will mute some of the pits from road debris. Doesn't remove them, just makes them harder to see.

                Thanks Terry,

I will take your advise and take my time. I've already made one expensive error. Thank goodness it is only the drivers window that has the scratches. They are fine so if the process works they should disappear.
