Does anyone know if the "fiber" disc located within the steering coupler (connecting the steering column to the steering box) for midyears is available, either in reproduction or OEM replacement form? Thanks, Rex #8089

Re: Steering coupler
The original fiber disc is riveted to the lower steering coupler. Replacement discs are available from many auto parts stores since they are similiar for many of the mid year chevys. They bolt on however and generally aren't the tough fiber that was from GM. In my expereince they tend to flex more.
The replacement lower coupler GM part number is 5691327. I think they are no longer available, but I found a dealer with one NOS.- Top
