While dinkin' around under the dash today on my '65 coupe I had to pull the ignition switch connector off the switch assembly. I noticed that there is no wire (or spade) going into the connector hole marked "GND". I could not find any stray wires under the dash. Is this option used?

Re: Ignition switch ground
Steve:
Stop looking for missing wires, you shouldn't find any. The harness connector has room for a ground wire, but none is used. Possibly something relating to the ground distribution in a fiberglass bodied car. If I remember correctly, the connector has 6 slots, but only 5 are used.

Steve:
I looked over my ignition harness and need to make a correction. The harness connector has 5 slots, and only uses 4. The ignition switch has 5 terminals, and only uses 4.
In any event, the "ground" terminal on your ignition switch is not used.
