    Wheels etc.......

Hi, I want to swap the tires on my 67 Vette to the original rally rims.
I want it to be as correct (original) as possible.
The NCRS judging guide states that metric wheel weights are not correct.
Are the correct balancing weights (non-metric) still available, hopefully even in Canada (I'm in Ontario).
The ones on my spare have the name "micron" on them. Also weights were apparently originally only placed on the back of the wheel -- can they be properly balanced with weights only on the back? I think part of the reason was for proper installation of the trim rings.
    Thanks

    Mario

    Mario,
I believe the logo on the weights is MICRO. I recently saw weights with that logo on a car that just had tires installed at a large tire chain in the USA. I failed to check if the weight was listed in both english and metric units. I expect to see the car again later this week or on the weekend, and have it on my list to check the weights in more detail. Stay tuned.

            Mario,

Sorry to say the shiny new MICRO weights have both english.75 oz, and metric, 21g, listed on them. I will have to look at my originals to see if the english units were listed once or twice. If listed only once a cleaver person might be able to "erase" the metric weight and age them.
We are in the process of trying to track down the supplier none-the-less.
