I have an original Y-50 mirror with a near perfect head but slight pitting on the base. I also have a new GM replacement mirror I bought in 1971. Is there a way to remove the heads from the bases and install the Y-50 in the new base? I'm one of those guys that would prefer a slightly less than perfect original part to a repro.
