    Color of F40 Shocks

Does anyone have a picture or point to a book that would give me a good idea of the color of F40 shocks from a 65?

    Thanks

They were painted gray, just like the standard shocks. The shock absorber gray paint available from Quanta is a very close match for one of the more common shades that were used. The coloration varied slightly and there is absolutely NO WAY to know exactly what the ones on your car originally exhibited. Even if you had the original shocks, they would not remain the original color.

        Joe,

Mine are more blue-gray than gray. The color is noticeably different than the non-F40 shocks I have seen.

Actually, I should have said blue-gray. In any event, there were a variety of slightly different "shades" of this color which were used on shocks of the period. I don't think that any shade was exclusive to F-40/41 shocks. And, I don't think that any shade was exclusive to non-F-40/41 shocks.
