    Large 022 Master Cylinder

I have an early, small 022 master Cyclinder on my March 59 car so I need to change to a large 022. I have the correct Master cylinder now but need help to find a rebuilder that can sleeve it. It has a couple of small pits in the bore.
Does anybody know a good rebuilder preferably on the west coast but a good person anywhere would be great. Thanks

My 62 master cylinder had a couple of small pits in it. 15 minuets worth of honing and installing a $15 rebuild kit took care of it. Sort of depends on where the pits are located in relation to the piston seals. Just my 2 cents

I had a MC for my '57 rebuilt at White Post Restorations in White Post Va. They have a very quick turnaround..In my case it was rebuilt and shipped out to me on the same day that it arrived to them. Others that I talked to, had a 2 to 3 week wait time. It looks and works like new. Reasonable cost too....Give them a try

Apple Hydraulics also does good brass sleeving at a fair price. I belive that the last C1 M/C that I sent them was about $60. John

I am soon to get this done on my 67's original master cylinder...White post quoted me $150 for the service with same day turnaround, if Apple Hydraulics is in the $60 range and does an equal quality job, it seems to be a better value...anyone have first hand experience with both and the differences?...thx, Craig

I think that that price you were quoted included a rebuild kit and the labor. I usually just pay for the sleeve and do the rest myself. John

John- that makes sense....I would rather go your route also...the rebuild with the kits are no big deal. They didn't offer just the sleeve, but I will ask. Thx!...Craig

I considered rebuilding my '022 but wanted it to be absolutely secure. Mine was resleeved and totally refurbished to look new. Brakes are not anything to be unsure about.
