    66 bb roadster $41k

I have been looking to buy a mid year for a few months now and I might have found one.. I have a few ? for the pro's (NCRS Members)

    1) I know the #'s to look for. The block cast date and car built date should be within 6 months but what time frame should the engine built date and car built date fall into?

    2) This car is 66 roadster red/black and the color is a match it has 427/390 claim to be org along with 4 speed. Has PS, PB, PA, org stereo, tele wheel, side exhaust (not org but NOS parts) repo knock offs fair to good paint (not show) clean int (not show) good frame run drives good all items work a clean driver restore done 9 years ago claims 10k miles since. I know there is a wide range on prices but does 41k sound inline?

    3) I found on this site how to check side exhaust to see if org or not. Is there signs for PB and PS to see if org.

I am going to look at it Sat please help if you can

Seems reasonable but a lot depends upon what you see. If you have not done so already, you may want to check out Corvette Mike's price guide at http://www.corvettemagazine.com/CGI-BIN/CALCULATOR.ASP

    Good Luck!

Mike, on original big block cars the build date, engine assem date and carb dates etc. should be more like 2 weeks to maybe 2 months apart. Price sounds good!

If the car has any parerwork, which is extremely important when it come to "collector" value, $41K sounds like a real bargain. If it's a "real" car, it won't last long at that asking price. Those are two real big "ifs".
Take an expert and be prepared to buy when the "ifs" pan out.
This kind of car doesn't come along every day.
            Good luck.

I bought the car tonight.. the #'s checked out and the stamp pad looked real good to my untrained eye. The paint was less then I thought but the car drove real well the best I have test driven, it made the 400 mile trip home with no problems except the speedo gave up 1/2.

                Thanks for your guys input.
