I've spent 4 hours trying to reinstall these "darned" things! I have tried every angle possible except the right one. I just cannot seem to get them through the support and through the body. Time, patience, and perseverence do not seem to be working for me at the moment. Any helpful suggestions short of removing the entire dash panel?

Re: Wiper Trans-59
The cables are attached to the transmissions, but not the center post. I cannot find a way to manuever the transmission into position. The space between the dash board and the body is too limited to allow the transmission to be inserted into place.- Top

From my Article written a few years ago and published in the Restorer. I will E you my whole article but with out the pix. I got the assembly out from under the dash by working the bottom towards the middle of the car, then it fell out on the outside of the steering column.. To install the new transmission assembly, it is basically just the reverse procedure,- Top

Re: Wiper Trans-59
It can definately be done. It may be easier with the pedal assy removed, but it is not essential. RH side is pretty easy. Be sure the inner cable is FULLY extended prior to installation. It's a pain to extend after installation. I would suggest you attach cables to center drum prior to tightening the nuts on transmissions, but do not adjust (release) the cables before tightening the nuts.- Top
