The wiper pump on my '67 is not working. I have checked the hoses and they are clear, as well as the line going into the resoivor and filter screen. I can hear the pump "clicking" but nothing is coming out. Any suggestions for troubleshooting the problem?

Re: '67 wiper pump
I have successfully rebuilt the pump mechanism in my 66, my 72, and my neighbor's 73. The culprit has been the O ring that is fitted to the pump piston itself. It wears out and I haven't been able to find one anywhere. The offending O ring has a rib in, running perependicular to the circumference and is shaped like a T. This rib or T is worn enough that the O ring collapses in the center, thus not allowing the O ring to properly seal against the side wall of the piston chamber. In one instance, we took a conventional O ring, of the correct diameter, and carefully "slimmed" it down by using a razor knife to cut the ring in half. We then installed this modified O ring in the grove that the rib or T sits in. This pushed the original O ring out enough that the pump works.
Does anyone know where these replacement O rings might be located?

Re: '67 wiper pump
Gary - I have seen references on the board to buy the current GM black replacement parts readily available, then transfer the guts to the old white plastic pump asm. Apparently, the internal design is identical, just the injection molded plastic color and exterior housing design which is different.....Craig- Top

Re: Did you try priming the pump and line?
The simple way that I do it is to take a mouthful of clean water and blow it gently into the pickup tube coming out of the reservoir until I see a dribble out of the wiper tubes. I then turn the wipers on and actuate the washer.
