    Charging Voltage

    Gents
Just fired up my 67 427 for the first time after a body off and checking the vitals is 13.6 Volts at the battery good or should we see 14+ with the engine running, also is this adjustable ?

    Thanks Myles

    Re: Charging Voltage

Myles, I will let the electrical wizards jump in here, but I have never been happy with a GM voltage that is less than 14.5. I am fairly certain that the 13.6 you are seeing is a tad low and that the GM tolerances for the voltage regulator should be higher.

Remember to have the voltage regulator at full operating temperature before making the chack. Follow the prcedure in the service manual for checking and setting the regulator if necessary
