I want to have some reproduction FI plenum lids sand-cast to match an early '63 pilot-line example.
This early lid looks very much like a production '63-5 plenum lid, but with the flags removed and a large Winters "snowflake" symbol beneath the emblem holes. Also, the fins are a little shorter than on a production die-cast lid. A photo of this early lid design appears on page 134 of Noland Adams' Restoration Guide - Vol. 2. These reproductions would be made to match an original example but would not bear the GM part number on the underside.
The expense of licensing, pattern making, sand casting, and machining will make the cost about $350 each. Is there anyone who is interested in buying one of these reproduction lids if they can be made for that price?
