The main case for my '60 3 speed has the following casting numbers
GM
28
3743368 E-9-0.
I am guessing the E-9-0 would stand for May 9, 1960, which would match the rest of the car, but do the rest of the numbers make sense?
Thanks
Rod
The rest of the numbers make complete sense. The "GM" obviously refers to General Motors. The "28" is the mold number. The "3743368" is the casting number for the case which, as I vaguely recall, is correct for 1960.'ll need to confirm that, though.

Joe,
Thanks for your help.
The car appears to be fairly original, but I had a problem with a Syncro for it and needed to be sure someone haden't changed the main case.
Thanks again
