I have noticed on several of the 1970 vetts that I have owned, that the 2 lines comming from the master cyl, going to the brass block, have a blue and a red nut. On the car that I am restoring now, there is a small amount of the paint still there. It appears that it was a very lite coat, looks like anodized. Can anyone, maybe Terry M, or other owners with origional cars comment? Thanks and glad to see Juliet posting about her car. Thad LeJeune

Re: 1970 brake line Q *TL*
Thad, It is NOT paint. It is a kind of dye, maybe anodized. I believe in the TIM&JG we called it a dye. Someone is making reproduction lines with the nuts properly colored - I have seen them on cars I have judged, but I never asked whose parts?

Re: 1970 brake line Q
Thanks Thad. Finally coming up for air from a crazy work month. I looked at my car, but didn't see any colors on what I think you're talking about. (How's that for non committal?) It's in one of the sections I haven't gone through in detail with the simple green either though, so maybe I might discover some anodizing / dye at a later date. I'm a little preoccupied with getting the rear suspension & drivetrain back into my beast right now. If you do get any clear photos of yours it would be neat to put on the '70 registry website. ~Juliet2019 Sebring Orange 8-Spd Coupe (daily driver & autocross) 6k mi.
