    Dr. RebuiXX

I usually make it a practice never to slam anyone unless they really deserve it. In this case, a Company in CT needs to remember that we are their customers and that it is them who needs us not us who needs them. The reason I write this post is the person(s) was the rudest SOB I've every had the pleasure to speak to.

I called to place an order on their 800 line. After I tried to exchange greetings I was told this is an order line. I politely said I was trying to order some parts. I was then told to have a nice day.

So, Dr. Rebuild will never get any of my business nor any recommendation from anyone that I talk to.

Thanks for reading, I had to vent.

        Re: Dr. RebuiXX

The comments made regarding Dr. Rebuild are, generally, in line with what I've heard from others and what I've experienced myself. To give them their due, though, I would have to say that their products are good, their catalog very descriptive, they carry many NOS parts at fair prices if you scrounge through their catalog and they have a very good selection of hard-to-find small parts. Many of these small parts the other vendors don't want to bother with.

However, and it's a BIG HOWEVER, the "good Doctor's" bedside manner leaves a LOT to be desired. This thing with their toll-free number has gotten way out of hand. It's almost like you have to start blurting out an order using part numbers only as soon as they pick up the phone. On one occassion in times past, I called to place an order and was told that this line was for orders only. Then I pointed out to them that I wasn't calling on the toll-free line; I WAS PAYING FOR THE CALL. I gave up on the toll-free line long before that.

Anyway, I learned a long time ago that when ordering from Dr. Rebuild, order from the catalog and FAX them your order. Their catalog is worth three times the $4 they charge. Not just because it's a great catalog, but because of the humor and hilarious diatribe found within its covers. I can honestly say that I've never laughed so hard in years than when I read some of the "doctor's" rhetoric. I got more laughs out of their catalog than I've gotten in two hours of sitting through the funniest movie I've seen in the last 20 years.

I just ordered today about $200.00 worth of stuff from them. The guy was no charmer ,however, there stuff is good. When I get the lady to answer she is pleasent. Don't use 800 line and you should not get the guy we are talking about.I asked him a question about a Holley carb kit and he said "call tech line" to get answer. All I wanted to know was if air horn gasket came with the kits, this way I would not need to puchase 3 extra gaskets (tri power). That would of been an extra $6.00 bucks. I stopped ordering the remainder of my list and told him, I'll call someone else. I'll order again, but I will not use him when ordering.

Remember the old line: " If a man answers; hang-up."? The guy has a very good product line but must be a real psycho. The guy's wife(female voice) is much more pleasant. Hence, the above line.JackNCRS#896

If the "good Doctor's" life depended on his customer relations skills, he would have been stone, cold dead years ago.

Thanks everybody! I feel much better! At least I'm not the only one, I thought jez what does it take to get a few midyear parts and save a buck. I rather not save a buck if i have to deal with that guy.

                Regards to eveyone!

                  I agree, my friend.

I wish that he would take all the energy that he puts into those diatribes and use it to work on his manners, though. I bet his business would double if he could control himself. And yes, his wife Deb is much nicer.

Maybe we could just medicate him...

I love his catalog, the best of all of them. From reading the catalog you know he is frugal but doesn't that benefit US. I have ordered many times from them and never a problem. I talked to Jeff, the owner, last Friday and wanted to order 'convertible lock pillar wedges'. He went into great detail about them and how he was planning to have them made. He was very nice and did not cut me off. We talked for over 5 minutes on his 800 line. In fact I am going to place an order right now. Jim

I also have delt with this man---he's crude. The only thing that makes me call them is that their packages arrive on time. That man should grow up and realize that he's not the cat's "Meow" when it comes to being the best corvette part's supplier. If you look hard enough you can find better prices. Hey, their in Conn. aahh those east coasters, got to love them. Quick, to the point, no bull-sh__. The woman, what a sweetheart.

                          Ditto, Ditto, and Ditto!

I called last fall for an emergency order that I wanted next-day express. "I'm too busy for that now." (very grumpy voice and tone) Then he hung up. Wow, was I impressed in a negative direction. Good products, great catalog, and decent prices. But talk about attitude. I only order from Dr. Rebuild when it is a last resort!

I also had a bad experience with the Doctor. In the middle of his rage, I reminded him that I was his customer and that I did not deserve to be treated this way. He then calmed down and we finished our business.
