    '60 Carpet Screws

    Hi all,

Maybe someone can clear up something for me. I'm ready to install my new carpet and can't figure out where to put the screws. I can accept that the four screws go to the inboard side of the two main carpet sections, two on the drivers side and two on the passenger side. However the AIM, which only shows the drivers side, has one screw in the upper inboard corner under the accelerator lever where it comes through the firewall and the other at the base of the accelerator pedal, about where your heel would be. I can't think that one is right. The floor pan has a hole an inch or so in front of the inboard seat adjuster and that looks to be a more likely location. Can someone help me out here?

    Ted -

See the post by Dale Pearman in the archives from March 4, 2001 titled "Re: 1959 Carpet Screws" - has all the dimensions. Unless they've been filled, you should be able to see the original holes from underneath the car.
