Still confused about '66 wiper blades...

I know this is not a new subject but I am still unclear as to the description of correct blades for a '66. According to Noland Adams, the blade construction for 1966 was a "bridge" design. By that I mean that the central portion of the blade which is attached to the pivot actually has a curved piece at each end. These two curved pieces are the parts of the blade which the rubber slides thru. I have observed several sets of refills listed on Ebay but none of them have been of this bridge design, they all have the blade extending to the ends and a "seesaw" underneath the main blade. These units seem to bring quite a decent price for something which seems, to me, incorrect. The judging manual does not provide a detailed description of the blade design except for the peaked and brushed part. Am I missing something here, how does the "seesaw" design judge?

Larry - Let me try and shed some light on the subject but from a slightly different perspective. First of all trying to describe the wiper holders and refills is like trying to teach someone to drive a stick shift car by having them read about it in a book and then asking them to do it. For 1966 Corvettes there were two suppliers ANCO and TRICO. The blades were 15" long. The ANCO configuration had a brushed or dull surface peaked shape holder and was stamped O.E. by ANCO on the end holders under the bridge. The rubber insert or refill had ANCO PATENT 2782444 embossed on the rubber and 2 line running the length of the inser. The TRICO holder configuration had the brushed flat top design thru April of 1966 and then when to a brushed peak shaped holder some what similar to the ANCO design. TRICO was stamped on the top of the ends of the lever ends. The TRICO refills had 3 lines running the lenght of the rubber insert and were held in place by a Latch-Lock at one end. The TRICO part # for the wiper blade assembly was PR-15-2W and the refill part # was RF-15. Unforumately, TRICO kept the same numbers for some time so check out the item to see that the configuration is what you need rather than rely on the TRICO part number exclusively. Pete
