    60 stainless and chrome parts?

I need recommendations on where to take my windshield frame and various stainless
parts, posts, side window glass, etc. for polish, rechrome, etc.
Somewhere near St. Louis would be nice.

    (1) Let your fingers do the walking via Yellow Page ads and shop visit/interview.

    (2) Ask your brothers in the Kansas Chapter for advice. Not a chapter member yet? Go sign up and get active. Things like this can payback your chapter membership in a New York minute!

Larry, I had no experience in doing that sort of work but bought a bench grinder and some compounds and did the job myself. Some of my stuff was so badly scratched (gouged) I had to do a considerable amount of sanding first but, the joy of seeing the gleem come back made it worth the effort. You can buy a bench grinder and all the polishes you need for a fraction of what it will cost to have it done. The price around Dallas is $20/ft for stainless trim.
My only recommendation is to get a motor with a wheel on each end and a long axle separating the wheels from the motor. If the wheels have covers, make sure they can be removed so you can get at the larger parts. I bought mine at Sears but it doesn't fit the bill as well at the motors you can find at the web site shown below.

Don't be afraid to start with the courser compounds then and work you way to the finer compounds for final polishing and you will be amazed.
