My 1970 coupe needs a new windshield. It is a mostly original getting a restoration with new paint and interior etc. if I order a new date coded windshield it will still not be original if it is judged so does it pay to purchase the date coding at all. Are less points deducted if it is date coded even though it is not original glass?

Re: 1970 replacement windshield
Yes, everything one can do to make the windshield closer to original will help with the points. I don't have my Judging Reference Manual handy at the moment (since I haven't unpacked from our Regional this past weekend), but the JG does spell out standard deductions for glass, tires, batteries, etc., things that are common to all years of Corvettes.- Top
