The driver's left side vent window upper pivot-pin has broken off and I would like some input on fixing same. The roundpin shaped like a small hockey-stick is the part that broke off. The flat rectangular-shaped Stainless base to which it was welded is still attached to the vent window frame. I need some input...(1)is there a shop that repairs the vent window frame ,or (2)can I fix it myself. If I have to remove the window, how much of a job is it? I appreciate all help on this one!! Thanks...Dick #31008

Re: 66 Vent window pivot -pin replacement
Robert, Did you take the vent window out? and I imagine remove the glass etc. This is all new to me since I have never gone into the vent window assembly. Does the frame of the vent window come apart or is it fastened by rivets...etc?Thanx...Dick- Top

Re: 66 Vent window pivot -pin replacement
I pulled the vent window assembly on my 65 a couple weeks ago. It was just a matter of removing the door panel then removing about 5 or so bolts. Then it was a matter of pulling out the assembly. It just took a little time and care so I didn't scratch my window while doing it.
This was on a convertible. I don't know what you have, or if there is a difference.
