    Re: C1 engine misfire cause?

I had this happen once on my BB pickup when I didn't pay attention and retorque the intake manifold bolts again...the coolant was running along the top of the manifold where the manifold joins the head, then was being sucked in by another gasket void by an intake port. This was using Felpro print-o-seal gaskets to boot. Just goes to show, follow through later with a re-torque, and I had cinched the gaskets carefully and re-torqued the next day on initial installation. A compression check will not show this problem up since the cylinders and valves are performing to specs....Craig

You also better check to make sure none of the coolant has leaked into the crankcase....if your oil level is high and a little murky.....you know it has!....Craig

I had a suspension that my passenger van had a head gasket or manifold gasket leak. I took it to a garage where they removed the radiator cap and replaced it with a tool that contained blue liquid. The mechanic told me that if any exhaust gases were leaking into the system the blue liquid would change colors. I sorry I didn't ask the name of the liquid/test.
