I recently removed the passenger door stryker on my 62. It does not have a shim or skid plates. These are shown in the Corvette Central catalog as separate parts. Did all C1s have shims and skid plates? The body service guide published for early C1s mentions using shims if needed to achieve the proper clearance. The door stryker fits the door latch very well as is and does not move or slip in use. Am I missing some parts?

All cars got the skid plates to keep the striker from moving, but the shim pack varied widely (including none) based on dimensional variation between the door inner and outer panels. If you have no skid plates, they were probably pitched by a previous owner's painter.- Top
